Ana Popovic is funky and fierce. A confident band leader and strong frontwoman, Ana Popovic’s latest in Power, shows she’s is a musical multitasker delivering Gospel groovers and a Funk-heavy Blues from a badass Blueswoman. She is someone with some serious guitar chops; Power providing serious six-string grit. It’s a record with a wonderful balance of soul and groove, aggressive in a fun and funky way.  
“Rise Up” sets the pace out of the gate, the guitar work on the album opener something out of a Frank Zappa song; the playing punchy, offensive, stabbing and wonderful.  “Doin’ This” is a fun Gospel cut with a lot of charge, and Popovic shows she can slow things down and even do the Brazilian lounge thing on “Luv’n Touch”. “Strong Taste” is a solid Blues bouncer, that lounge vibe returning for “Recipe for Romance” and “Ride It” with its Funky horns is a solid mover, testament to Popovic’s forward motion as she sings ‘we’re gonna ride it ‘til the wheels fall off and willing to ‘lose a night of sleep or two’.
Ana Popovic closes with a great Gospel thumper in “Turn My Luck”, a hand-clap heavy, light on the instruments cut where the vocals are the star. This is a fun, modern Funk and Blues album. Solidly arranged, every piece of the musical puzzle fitting in place, including her once again stellar guitar work. It’s guitar playing that warrant’s multiple mentions, and something that gives this album a Rock vibe. (by Bryant Liggett)
