The song addresses changing hate to love, and the band feels that ‘if you don’t like protest songs, you’ll love this. In a last-ditch effort to wrench up compassion for those we don’t see eye-to-eye with, we turn to love. This song names a kind of love previously undefined: love for the bigot, love for the thief, love for the destroyer. Infinite compassion. Only light can illuminate the darkness, so this is a sweet little love song for all the shitheads out there’. Formed in New Orleans by former members of Hurray for the Riff Raff, The Deslondes return after a hiatus with a new single, “Five Year Plan” from their upcoming (07-08-22) release Ways & Means. Colorado rockers Taylor Scott Band have a new single, “Talk to Me”, from their upcoming (08-12-22) release, The Hang, on the chart alongside a Solstice single from Kyshona with “Rise the Tide” to celebrate summer and her tour dates with Shovels & Rope. New England mountain man Bow Thayer has a new single, “Puppet Show”, joining Darlin’ Brando with “Don’t Make Me Move (Again)”, the single/title track from his upcoming (07-22-22) E.P. and Heavy Gus with “Still to Be” from their upcoming (08-05-22) album Notions.
