The release of “Am I High” landed perfectly on the 4-20-23 celebration. The tune was a day late for our chart’s Wednesday due date, sooooo, we extended the yearly fest by using “Am I High” to wave a flag over the list with a Moonalice single, the NoCal band joined by Ray Benson, who’s Asleep at the Wheel first recorded the track. Jeremie Albino blends styles to walk the line between vintage Rock’n’Roll sounds and Cowboy Soul as he beckons “Across the Hall” from his upcoming (06-09-23) release Tears You Hide. East Nashville troubadour Stephen Simmons has a new single, “Little Bird Singing”, a co-write with Shannon Wright, the story traveling down into the coalmines with the canaries as Joy Oladokun sings of “Taking Things for Granted” from her upcoming (04-28-23) release, Proof of Life. Malachy Touhy (a member of Irish band The Riptide Movement) offers “Most of the Time” from his debut I Cross This Universe (due June 2023) while from the Mojave hi desert of Southern California, songman Brad Byrd roars into “I Don’t Know (What to Believe In)”, letting the images outside the tour bus window lull the music into a desert dust reverie. Layng Martine Jr recalls early Rock’n’Roll moments in “Love You Back to Georgia”, a tune written in the 1970’s that can be found on the upcoming (05-19-23) Music Man, a collection of his father’s songs put together by Layng’s son, producer Tucker Martine. Jesse Roper has new music, “Make It All Work Out”, while Greenville, South Carolina’s BUCKO spin a new single with “Revolution” and Raveis Kole gently take us towards an exit with a new single “Sun Eclipsed by the Moon” on the weekly Top Ten on Wednesday April 26, 2023.
