Alt Root Weekly Top Ten 4/3/24

Picture
Returning for Round 2, Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore map out the road to TexiCali on the upcoming (06-21-24) release. Opening the weekly Top Ten for Wednesday April 3, 2024, the duo put their history into a song with “We’re Still Here”, the track joining the first single, “All My Fault”, from the upcoming (06-07-24) Fantastic Cat release, Now That’s What I Call Fantastic Cat. Fourteen-year-old mandolin up-and-comer Wyatt Ellis is joined by mandolin godfather Marty Stuart on the single “Blue Smoke” while the cat with the hat, Charlie Overbey, enlists Jamie Wyatt and Marcus King to join in on “Champagne, Cocaine, Cadillacs, & Cash”, a tease to the talent backing Charlie on the upcoming (07-26-24) release In Good Company. Pokey LaFarge is being fair for “One You, One Me” from his upcoming (05-10-24) Rhumba Country as “Rotations” watches a parent spin around their rapidly growing children in a Folk song from Adeem the Artist, an advance listen to his upcoming (05-03-24) Butch Walker-produced album Anniversary. Miko Marks is backed by Buddy Miller on “Lay Your Burdens Down” from her upcoming (04-19-24) deluxe version of her 2022 album Feel Like Going Home. Madeliene Peyroux asks “Please Come on Inside” with a cut from her upcoming (06-28-24) release Let’s Walk while Tylor & The Train Robbers sing a “Sailing Song” from their upcoming (05-03-24) Cody Braun-produced Hum of the Road. Silverada (formerly Mike & The Moonpies) have an upcoming (07-28-24) self-titled release, and since there are no tunes left on the chart are headed “Anywhere but Here” on the weekly Top Ten for Wednesday April 3, 2024.
