SoCal Doom Folksinger Cinder Well presents a dark forest of sound on her upcoming (04-21-23) release, Cadence, offering “Two Heads, Grey Mare” for the chart while Jim Lauderdale provides a dose of Bluegrass when he is joined by Po’ Ramblin’ Boys for a new single, “Last Resort”. Ally Venable partners with Buddy Guy to sing about “Texas Lousiana”, a track from her upcoming (03-24-23) release Real Gone and David Childers is backed by The Serpents to cover Prince’s “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man” from their upcoming (04-07-23) release, Melancholy Angel. Yarn offer their version of “Cocaine Bear”, a true story covered by the New York Times in 1985 (now made into a motion picture) regarding a bear found dead near a cargo plane downed on the Tennessee/Georgia border that was hauling a cargo of cocaine. Boston-born, Los Angeles-based musician Alice Howe chose Muscle Shoals FAME Studio for her upcoming (04-21-23) release, Circumstances, and she makes the list with “Somebody’s New Lover Now”. Jeff Larson has curated a loving tribute to Tim Hardin with the upcoming (03-07-23) E.P. It’ll Never Happen Again, making the list with “Reason to Believe”. A pair coulda-done-better boys close out the list when Tulsa’s Joey Frendo delivers “Fool Hearted Woman” from his upcoming (04-21-23) Bound for Heartache while RJ Bloke finds liquid love in “Born Thirsty” from his recent release, Hold Drugs Dear, on the weekly Top Ten on Wednesday March 1, 2023.
