9/19/2026 Danielle Nicole (from the album FirefliesDanielle Nicole (from the album Fireflies available on Forty Below Records)
Danielle Nicole and her badass bass playing have been cultivating and curating the Blues; beginning in family bands before forming Trampled Underfoot with her brother, Nick Schnebelen. Fireflies, the recent album release from the Kansas City-born musician, shows that her solo career continues a meteoric rise as the album expands on songwriting and a performance presence that pushes her to the next level. A blending of all her musical accomplishments comes together in the title track when “Fireflies” wraps a Southern Soul soundtrack with hammering Rock blasts and a moaning low delivery. Notes sparkle in a mirror image of the Fireflies album title as Danielle Nicole enters the album on a soulful stomp talking about “Radical Love”. Distorted guitar licks become the clarion call that beckons in, and pulls you under, with the groove of “Piper” while graceful steps tread lightly over the love-sick questions forming as “Memories”. A greasy backbeat supports the observations on pain that cruise through “Soulside” as the rhythms swirl around the dreamscape progression in the groove in “Dreams”. Luther Dickinson joins in the Soul shout praying “Take Me Back” as a rhythmic rumble becomes the current underneath “The Same Love That Made Me Laugh”. Danielle Nicole duets with the beat that carries her finger-pointing accusations in “Gaslight” while a slow cooking Soul melody is the color that defines “Chameleon”.
