9/26/2026 Alicia Blue (from the album Country DesireAlicia Blue (from the album Country Desire available on A Blue Lion/Soundly Music) (by Danny McCloskey)
Tapping Shooter Jennings to produce her debut album effort, Alicia Blue sings a blue-collar epic with Country Desire. Raised between Southern California and borderlands of South Texas, Alicia Blue guides her tales of desire and defeats; confronting her past as she holds her head high walking into a future that shows her taking control of life. Judgment writes the words of “Hungry Ghost” while album producer Shooter Jennings joins Alicia Blue as the two tell the tale of “Draggin’ a Broken Heart”. Classic Country is the soundtrack for Country Desire, Alicia Blue masterfully guiding the stories as she offers advice (“I Know What Doesn’t Fade”), leads a honky tonk line dance (“Backwards Again”), opens her heart for a horse-riding man (“Kentucky Cowboy”), and sluggishly lets her mind wander through memories (“Run Me Ragged”). An A-list backing band supports Alicia Blue as the sessions for Country Desire host Jay Bellerose on drums (Alison Krauss, Robert Plant), Brian Whelan on keyboards (Dwight Yoakam), Ted Russell Kamp on bass (Sturgill Simpson, Tanya Tucker), and Greg Leisz on pedal steel guitar (Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton) with Alicia’s guitarist, Alex Labrie. Singing the “Waitress Blues”. Alicia Blue gives voice to a mighty yodel, telling the tale of a life in song with “Clean”, requesting “Please Don’t Call”, and wearing the skin of the “Rose of Tennessee” as Country Desireexits the album with the tender confessions of “Mama. I’m Writing” (by Danny McCloskey) Listen and buy the music of Alicia Blue from AMAZON For more information, please visit the Alicia Blue website The Blog Tags widget will appear here on the published site.
