Though Mileage, her recent release, is the tenth studio album in her catalog, Ruthie Foster can still claim a lot of firsts. The album is her debut on the legendary Sun Records as well as Mileage logging in as one of the most intimate, uplifting albums in her career. Ruthie Foster, joined by Larkin Poe, tops the chart claiming “Done” as Jackson Browne offers “Everywhere I Look” from the upcoming (10-18-24) compilation Tonight I’ll Go Down Swingin’, an album tributing the songs of Don Heffington (Lone Justice). Indie Blues from Paris, France makes the chart when Wanomi delivers “Hanging Around” as JD Simo and Luther Dickinson partner for the upcoming (09-20-24) Do the Rump!, beckoning to follow them on the list with “Come & Go with Me”. Therwsmith is based in Brooklyn but calls the road home in “Always a Traveling Man” while Helena Kletch encourages to “Smile Big”. Samantha Fish reworks a live cut from her catalog, announcing “Better Be Lonely” to close out the chart for the weekly Top Ten for Wednesday August 28, 2024.
