Rock’n’Roll and Shovels & Rope have had a long relationship. On their upcoming (09-05-24) release, Something is Working Above My Head, the Charleston, South Carolina band lean heavily on their Rock side. Shovels & Rope land in the #1 spot with “Love from a Dog” ft. Gregory Alan Isakov, alongside another duo of note(s), Robert Plant and Alison Krauss (who are gearing up for a summer tour) covering Robert’s old band, Led Zeppelin, with “When the Levee Breaks”. Silverada (formerly Mike & The Moonpies) have a self-titled album (due 06-28-24) release coming, and are on the chart singing about “Radio Waves”. Jon Langford is a Roots music Renaissance Man, on the list for this week for a cut from the recent release, Where It All Starts, featuring his new band, Jon Langford & The Bright Shiners, with “For the Queen of Hearts”. Nashville (via SoCal) songstress, Alice Wallace, has an upcoming (06-28-24) release, Here I Am, making a “Bonfire” on our chart beside Margo Price, who offers a TP cover found on the upcoming (06-21-24) tribute to the Rocker with “Ways to Be Wicked”, from Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty. Ruthie Foster offers an advance listen to her upcoming (08-23-24) album Mileage with “Rainbow” while Ida Mae claim “Tomorrow’s Too Far” on a new single and Rodeo Mouth, with a new single from the Nashville-based songman, sings the “Sunset Blues Revisited”. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats close out the chart warning “Get Used to the Night” on a cut form their upcoming (06-28-24) release, South of Here, on the weekly Top Ten for Wednesday June 12, 2024.
