January was both a celebration of birth and death for David Bowie. For their ‘Dead Heroes’ cover set Cowboy Junkies offered a version of “Five Years” to honor the life of David Bowie, the track sitting up in the lead spot for the weekly Top Ten for Wednesday February 9, 2022. Erin Rae is joined in duet by Kevin Morby, the pair channeling classic vocal partnerings of the past with “Can’t See Stars” from Erin’s Lighten Up release. Sugaray Rayford sings inspiration in the face of adversity in “Gonna Lift You Up” from his upcoming (03-04-22) release, In Too Deep, on the list alongside the title track from the upcoming (03-25-22) Jason Erie album, Tiny Fires, and “Fighting Like Hell to Be Free” from Lost Dog Street Band.
