![]() Sonny Green (from the album Found! One Soul Singer available on Little Village Foundation) After serenading Los Angeles lovers of Soul music for over four decades, Sonny Green releases his debut album, Found! One Soul Singer. Produced by Kid Andersen (Rick Estrin and the Nightcats) the album proudly claims vintage Soul music for its groove. Backed by a full band of true believers, Found! One Soul Singer serves up Hammond B-3 organ (Jim Pugh), horn section, and producer Kid Andersen’s guitar work weaving tastefully throughout. Sonny Green is questioning aim on “Cupid Must Be Stupid” while he peers through the neon bar light asking “Are You Sure” on smoldering Soul. Found! One Soul Singer struts and shouts on “Back for a Taste of Your Love” as it welcomes Alabama Mike in for vocals on the funky groove of “Trouble” and dims the lovelights for “Be Ever Wonderful”. At 77 years old, Sonny Green claims the crown, giving Vintage Soul music a second wind on Found! One Soul Singer. Southern Soul shimmies and shudders in “If You Want Me to Keep Loving You” as Sonny Green draws the line in “I’m So Tired”, is the “Blind Man” holding on to love, the silver-tongued man asking questions in “I Beg Your Pardon”, and the sly voice offering advice on “If Walls Could Talk”.
