Dianne Davidson (from the album Perigon: Full Circle available as a self-release)
A deep, resonating voice is the bridge that carries Dianne Davidson from her early 1970’s recording to Perigron: Full Circle, her recent release. There is power in her vocals, a strength that backs her words, ready for battle as Dianne Davidson takes on all that life can toss her way in “True Believer”. A hush falls on the white noise of urban life for the tale in “Sound of the City” as she wrestles a snaking rhythm, dabbing a touch of the Blues on “Solitary” while a hints of Country wrap around “Precious Boys”. Perigron: Full Circle called to Dianne Davidson and she honors the effort recalling that ‘in the moments when I was alone and sad and lost, this album was brought forth from my soul. In all the years I was away, this dream never left me. From its first baby steps, it had its own soul. What started as two songs for inclusion in the documentary, 'Invisible,’ became a being of its own. A labor of love, created by the joining of loving and incredibly insightful musicians and engineers’.

A strong list of players back the songs, Dianne Davidson sharing the microphone when Ruthie Foster stops in for shared vocals on “Subtle Touch”. Dianne Davidson penned the tracks on Perigron: Full Circle, offering album space for covers of cuts from Gretchen Peters (“For Africa”) and Bob Dylan (“To Make You Feel My Love”). It has been thirty years since her last recording, the sonics of Perigronshowing a seamless link between then and now for the artist. Opening on a seductive rhythm, Perigron: Full Circle slides in a mellow groove for “Just Out of Reach” and provides a solid backbeat to cushion the harsh reality of “They All Leave”. Dianne Davidson sways on guitar strums like an ocean breeze crossing “The Island” and quietly exits the album tenderly whispering “Missing You Tonight”.
