Here's What You get if You Win...
The Americana Music Festival and Conference takes place in Nashville September 8-11, 2010. It's the largest Americana Roots Music Festival in the country for both fans and industry professionals. It IS the place to expose your music to record companies, publicists, press and media, radio and of course music fans. Showcase opportunities are cherished, limited and very tough to get. The Alternate Root Showcase in 2009 at Douglas Corner was heavily attended by press, media, record executives, radio and fans during the 6 hour show. This year's Alternate Root event promises to be even bigger and we want YOU to be part of it. You'll get a 40 minute set during the showcase to show the industry and fans what you've got.

Alternate Root TV is a syndicated Roots/Americana Music program that currently airs in over 40 markets including Atlanta, Philadelphia, Minneapolis/St.Paul, Tampa, New Orleans with more stations picking up the program every day. The program hits a potential audience of over 4 million households and that number grows every day. Season one included artists Raul Malo, Todd Snider, Band of Heathens, Corb Lund, Hotclub of Cowtown, Duke Robillard, Ellis Paul, Christine Ohlman, Madison Violet, Randy Thompson, YARN, Johnny A., Devon Sproule, Paul Currerri, James Intveld, Chris Scruggs, Colin Linden, Eric Ambel, The Tejas Brothers, Peter Parcek, and many more. Over 100 artists have had their videos featured on Alternate Root TV. Season 2 Starts in October 2010 and YOU can be the musical guest on the season opener. We'll be filming Season 2 during the festival in Nashville September 8-11. We'll film TWO songs by you and/or your band to be featured in the show.

THE VOTING HAS BEGUN FOR THE ALTERNATE ROOT SHOWCASE WINNER

VOTING FOR THE FINALS BEGINS ON FRIDAY AUGUST 13th and ENDS ON MONDAY AUGUST 23rd. THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON TUESDAY AUGUST 24th.

Contest Rules:

The Alternate Root is not responsible for transportation, food or lodging in Nashville during the Conference and Festival. You must be willing to get to Nashville in order to claim your prize. The grand prize is not transferrable and has no monetary value. In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by the editors and staff of The Alternate Root. The decision by the editors and staff of the Alternate Root Magazine in the event of a tie is final. Voters must Be registered users of The Alternate Root Magazine. Registration is free of charge and voters can register on thealternateroot.com. Voters may vote ONCE per day during the voting period. Number of votes cast for each song is available for public view during the voting process. Submitting your song is free of charge and can be completed by uploading your song to the address below:
