The recent release from Tom Rigney & Flambeau, All Fired Up, is a musical tableau. Tagging the album with a variety of unique American styles including echoes of Chuck Berry rising up in the rhythms of “Schoolteacher” and dipping its toe in the Blues side of Southern Rock, All Fired Upborrows a cut from J.J. Cale with “Call Me the Breeze”. The album bounces on a high-stepping version of Fats Domino’s “I’m in Love Again”, sinking deep into Delta soil for the slow-rolling take on the Delmore Brothers “Blues Stay Away from Me”.
 
The musical spinning wheel turning in All Fired Up never strays too far from the natural draw of Cajun music that inhabits the souls of Tom Rigney & Flambeau. The music takes control as the band travel South, embracing the sounds of the bayou and inviting all to take part in the dance with “Do the Zydeco” as they head down to Mardi Gras on the rambunctious rhythms of “Stir the Pot”. In a career that has spanned decades, Tom Rigney has established himself, and his fire-breathing fiddle, in the world of Roots music. Utilizing Flambeau as an added secret weapon, Tom cruises on the mighty beat generated by the tasteful musical accents of Caroline Dahl (piano) and guitarists Anthony Paule and Mark Brinitzer.
