2/14/2026 The Nude Party (from the album Look Who’s BackThe Nude Party (from the album Look Who’s Back available as a self-release) (by Bryant Liggett)
The seven-piece, North Carolina-based band, The Nude Party, wants you to know they’re back. Although, and good for us, they and their killer sound haven’t really gone anywhere. Offering up their signature slacker, Indie Garage-Country and laid back Indie Roots Rock, their latest release, Look Who’s Back is more greatness, where hints of Cosmic Country Roots do a slow two-step with playful Indie Pop. That aforementioned ‘slacker’ descriptor couldn’t be more present then on the opening Look Who’s Back title track, where keyboards and lazy pedal steel guitar drift in and out of a cut that’s thick and catchy. Forever students of music that came before, “Not That Bad” could come from the 1980’s, as would the hooky bounce in “Sweetheart of the Radio”, and the bratty OG Punk vibe of “Carolyn”. “Walk That Walk” has elements of Classic Rock (back to the perennial studies of multiple music scenes) complete with a Stadium Rock drum beat, handclaps, and a Thin Lizzy-inspired guitar lead before the cut gets into fist pumping territory. “Love is Electric” is dreamy Psychedelic Pop, and who knew the daily act of “Taking Hangers off the Line” could be so wonderful? The album closer, “Juarez”, finds The Nude Party traveling South of the Border (the real one not the schtick scene at the southern state line of North Carolina); it’s a bit traditional and all Nude Party. Look Who’s Back is all good times: this is a fun record that tosses out party vibes. The Nude party have delivered a much-needed score for feeling great.
