Born in a love of Rock’n’Soul, husband/wife duo Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks have forged an empire, driven by the musical chemistry of the 12-piece ensemble that makes up the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Their recent release, Future Soul, is album number six for the group, and arrives with a more focused intention courtesy of a full band collaboration. Tedeschi Trucks Band are performers, andFuture Soul showcases the diversity of styles they channel into a brand. A rhythmic rumble cruises underneath a street-life tale of modern times in “Under the Knife” as an electric piano leads the way into the assertive stride of “Devil Be Gone” and a story of loss slowly finds comfort in the rising melodies of “What in the World”.
 
Stark guitar chords lay a path for “Hero” to come to life with the pound of drums while “Ride On” cruises on a smooth highway that carries the road song. An easy Southern breeze blows through the seductive requests of “Shout Out” as a hyper-active beat wraps around the promises in “I Got You”. A simple question is bounced between two lovers with “Who Am I” as a tangle of guitar strings carry “Crazy Cryin’” while Tedeschi Trucks Band strut over the sharp-angled Rock rhythms of the Future Soul title track.
