With a Country look and a thick Folk and Country Rock sound accentuated by a dramatic delivery, crooner Ryan Bingham is the best of American Roots music. Hints of twang, and an expansive audio offering that moves from traditional Country to Folk then over to Country Rock, doesn’t spread the New Mexico native, and former rodeo rider, thin. Instead, the sounds that make Ryan Bingham, along with The Texas Gentlemen, appealing cross a diverse audience landscape. The latest from Ryan Bingham & The Texas Gentlemen, The Call Us the Lucky Ones, is a varying menu for a broad appeal. 
That thick Folk tone kicks the album off on “The Lucky Ones” with Bingham’s vocals delivered gritty and rough. The result is a song that is sad and dramatic. Shit-kicking Blues and Gospel come in “Let the Big Dog Eat” while “I Got A Feelin’” is ready for a back-porch singalong. “Twist the Knife” is a gutsy and lonely ballad, a tune that lyrically delivers sadness and regret. Finding a way to define the sound of Americana is always on the table. Perhaps a good place to start would be with the cut “Americana” as Ryan Bingham offers up some parlor lounge, singing about hot-dogs, fireworks, and other staples of the suggested American diet for celebrations.
