Her Rust Belt heritage home in Rochester, New York shows that the windows in Rita Bliss’ house all faced South. She now resides in Austin, Texas, and on her new release she takes the traditional strums of her banjo, and the lonesome train whistle of her harmonica, across the ocean to offer her new recording, Live from London. Rita Bliss chose a damp spot to sprinkle Southwest dust as she pines for a home in “Texarkana”.
 
Recorded in London’s Green Spot by Oscar Canier, and mixed by Patrick Herzfeld (Signal Sound Recording), Live from London strips back the performance of Rita Bliss. Her emotive songwriting is backed with equally stark musical accompaniment. Opening the E.P. with “July”, an effervescence in the chord patterns and harmonica hum gives the track a bright background as she seeks a relationship exit. Live from London exits as Rita Bliss pulls a “Two Dollar Bill” out of a side pocket in her songwriting catalog. (by Danny McCloskey)
