The recent release from multiple Grammy-winner Molly Tuttle provides a fully artistic experience in her recent release, So Long Little Miss Sunshine. The album art, a photo montage, collects the work of photographer Ebru Yildiz presenting Molly wearing a series of wigs as well as featuring her own, hair-free, image. The one-dimensional mirror captures each image as a source for an album’s worth of diverse tunes, showcasing that range when a fast-track rumble encourages the exit flight of “Rosalee”. Molly Tuttle rolls down the window to fully experience the magic of the SoCal desert lands as she exits Bakersfield, headed to toast freedom with friends in LA behind the wheel of her El Camino in “Easy”. The guitar work of Molly Tuttle that plays on the album appears like the sparkle of million stars watching from a darkened night sky. The wigs that grace the dome of Molly Tuttle on the album cover show her taking charge of her life as much as fleshing out the characters found in her stories. The hairpieces are a lifelong accessory for Molly who was diagnosed with alopecia areata (an autoimmune condition that causes hair loss) at three-years-old. Explaining the So Long Little Miss Sunshine album title, Molly Tuttle explains that ‘this record was a way of saying goodbye to the version of myself that tried to blend in, to be ‘sunshine’ for everyone. Now I’m just trying to be real’. A Rock’n’Roll rumble signals the story that further explains the images with “Old Me New Wig)” as she exudes nostalgia for a time that she was too young to experience, Molly Tuttle makes a dream wish list to visit the time of celebration that took place in “Summer of Love”. Crossing her fingers and hanging on to the hopes found in the promise of new love with “Oasis” she hops on board a frenetic gathering of notes to share “No Regrets” and shares the experiences of her own lifetime with “The Highway Knows”. So Long Little Miss Sunshine features a move away from musical expectations of the past album release (with her backing band Golden Highway) without completely erasing the sound fans have come to love. A hard-charging beat pushes “Everything Burns” as Molly Tuttle confides “That’s Gonna Leave a Mark”, exiting So Long Little Miss Sunshine with an audio resume in “Story of My So-Called Life” (by Danny McCloskey) Listen and buy the music of Molly Tuttle from AMAZON For more information and purchase options, please visit the Molly Tuttle website The Blog Tags widget will appear here on the published site.
