Roaring into his recent release on the title track, Mikw Zito issues the last-call warning ‘you don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here’ with “Outside or The Eastside”. A slow Blues crawl carries the promises of “Kiss You All Over” while a hammered beat supports the claims in “Down Don’t Bother Me”, and a juke-joint bounce shimmies and shakes for a cover of Willie Dixon’s “Close to You”. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Mike Zito has lived a life dedicated to the Blues on both his solo efforts and in the one-off album for Royal Southern Brotherhood, a band he co-founded with Cyril Neville, Devon Allman, Yonrico Scott, and Charlie Wooten.
 
Bringing the tempo down to a sizzle, Mike Zito asks “Do I Move You”, warning “Don’t Take Advantage of Me” on a gnarly beat as he strolls along “Grand Avenue” with a smooth Blues groove and wanders “Downtown at Midnight” on an after-dark noir-rhythm. Baring his soul with the raw admissions of “Too Broke to Spend the Night”, Mike Zito cruises on a runaway rhythm to cite his demands for love in “Just Like I Treat You” before exiting Outside or The Eastside on the swamp-crawl rumble of “The Blues Lover”. (by Danny McCloskey)
