The title track blasts open the song roster for All God’s Children, the recent release from East Nash Grass. The tune is a travelogue for a road trip as the East Nashville Bluegrass outfit navigate a “Bend in the Road” with a determined bounce and cross “Hill Country Highway” reading from the tour diary of a traveling band. East Nash Grass honed their skills with a seven-year weekly residency in a dive bar on the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee. The confidence afforded the five-piece is displayed proudly on the tracks of All God’s Children.
A gentle sway hears the history of a refugee family’s trip to Texas in “Git Along Little Yearlings” as the band sees a “Redbird” through the window as the song’s rhythm’s mirror the sadness in the bird’s cries. All God’s Children chases love in “Followin’ You” as its pines for a torn heart with “The Love We Gave Up” while East Nash Grass sing a “Lonesome Song”, match the flash fire relationship building for “In Such a Short Time” with a rhythm equal to its characters twin pounding heartbeats as they exit the album following thumping bass-driven beat of “Jump Through the Window”.
