It’s a perfect explanation of music that is equal parts Country and Rock’n’Roll played out with an Indie Americana backing. Her recent release, Finer Things, weighs the passage of time on the slowly revolving rhythms of “Blue Suede Eyes” as “Angels” flies on an airy dreamscape of piano-led sounds over a sturdy backbeat. The songs of Finer Things showcase the singer/songwriter tunes of 24-year-old Clover County; her relaxed voice backed by a slowly-rising Folk Rock for “Anywhere” while her siren vocal sways on a cruising groove in “Cadillac” and admits to being ‘a junkie for love’, sharing that it’s been a ‘long time since I’ve known love that wasn’t war’ over a heartbeat rhythm with “Virginia Slim”.
