Rhett Miller (The Old 97’s) offers “All for You”, a cut from his upcoming (10-10-25) release, A Lifetime of Riding by Night to open the weekly Top Ten for Wednesday September 24, 2025. Jolie Laide cover Carl Perkins (and The Beatles) hit, “Honey Don’t”, found on their recent E.P., In the Low Light, which gathers together the band’s B-sides from single releases. Nathaniel Bellows provides an answer in “Works for Me” from his upcoming (10-17-25) release, The Moat, and Kashena Sampson rides a low rumble of rhythm for “Phases” from her album (10-03-25) Ghost of Me. Marc Broussard delivers a beautiful orchestral take on “Smile”, a tune that became a hit for Nat King Cole after lyrics were added to an instrumental from Charlie Chaplin. The song is from the forthcoming (fall 2025) release from Marc Broussard, S.O.S.5, Songs of the 50’s as Steve Earle partners with Reckless Kelly to sing of decisions in “Dead or Gone to Dallas”. The Irish-American duo DUG (Jonny Pickett, Conor O’Reilly) roll out the title track to their recent release Have at It! while Luther Jenson makes a request in “Turn Out the Lights” and Matt Warren shares “When My Baby Cries”. Closing out the weekly Top Ten for Wednesday September 24, 2025, a dreamy morning mist off the water wraps around “Blue Bayou”, a cut from the next installment of the Broken Jukebox series from Shovels & Rope in Volume 4. The duo are joined by Al Olender, who has traveled with the pair for three consecutive tours, and ended her show with the song, encouraging Shovels & Rope to join in harmony.
