Releasing another single in advance of their upcoming (02-20-26) album Country Sides, The Band of Heathens are atop the chart with “No Direction” for the Top Ten on Wednesday January 7, 2026. BOH describe the track as ‘”No Direction” is a love song for all we leave at home while we're chasing this nomadic dream of music on the run’. John Craigie announces his upcoming (02-06-26) album Swam Here with an advance listen in “Fire Season”, and he joins new music from Cypress Key, who admit to being “Just a Fool” and Dustin O’Neal as he looks out at the highway in “The Long Way Home”. Songman Dustin Brown returns with “Ballerina” with help from Billy Hartman and Rachel Cole and Jonivan Jones relates the tale of the “Plain Bellied Water Snake” from his recent EP release, At Joe’s Sound Room. Chicago’s Ratboys put an edge to their Roots asking “What’s Right” with a cut from their upcoming (02-06-26) release, Singin’ to an Empty Chair. Denver-based Taylor Scott Band have “Blacktop Blues” as Ikaika Studio sing of “My Condition”. Wrapping up the first chart of the year, Highway Wolf puts a dark rumble underneath their cover of John Prine’s “Speed of the Sound of Loneliness” for the Top Ten on Wednesday January 7, 2026.
